Bill Gates
Signed 1987 Microsoft-EraPersonal Computing Magazine Page,\"Best Wishes, Bill Gates\"
Gatessigns under the quote \"We believe that it (a new DOS) will enable new classes of applications that will be very important.\"
Letter of provenance from the original owner:
In 1987 I attended a Chicago Computer Society meeting at Oakton Community College, Des Plaines, Illinois. The guest speaker was Mr. Gates.
This was two years after the first version of Windows came out (November 1985) and roughly a year after Microsoft stock went public.
Mr. Gates hinted on improvements to a \'New version\' of DOS that would take advantage of the 286 and newer 386 processors. I remember vividly he mentioned that the Mac was the best system at that particular time.
Mr. Gates stuck around for quite a while after his talk. He was very friendly and open to all attendees (Not that there were many). Pretty cool taking into account we were mostly hobbyists and geeks in attendance, not industry or business executives.
I happened to have a Personal Computing Magazine with me to read while I waited. I asked Mr. Gates to sign the page with his picture, which he did.
Minor handling wear, light stains to lower border and some toning from age (please see photos)
A scarce early signature of Gates.
Authenticated and encased by PSA DNA
