The "Golden" Encampment: An exceptionally well-preserved Delegate Badge from the 47th Annual Encampment, Department of Ohio, held in Washington Court House, June 16–20, 1913. The Design: This is a "jewelry-grade" medal featuring a high-relief G.A.R. membership star set against a radiant sunburst. The top bar features a vibrant enamel Union Shield nestled within the "Delegate" header. Superior Construction: Unlike standard ribbon medals, this piece uses a heavy dual-chain suspension. This design choice has allowed the medal to remain in near-pristine condition without the risk of "shattered silk" common in other Civil War-era souvenirs. The Maker: Stamped on the reverse by C.D. Lyons Co., Mansfield, Mass. Lyons was a premier jeweler known for high-quality gold-plating and precision die-striking. Condition: Excellent. The gold gilt is bright and 100% intact. The pin assembly and all chain links are original and secure.
