Beautiful issue of thisvery rare original newspaper from colonial New York City.New-York Gazette: or, the Weekly Post-Boy, October 3, 1768, no. 1344, printed by James Parker. EXCEPTIONAL content:2c: Settlement at Savannah, Georgia, and East Florida, news of Native leaders of the Creek Tribe; South Carolina, the Regulators have dissolved the government, news reprints a letter regarding these affairs; CherokeeIndians and Attakullakula; Boston, a letter is received from General Gage stating that two regiments are on their way from Halifax and that "provision be made for them agreeable to an act of parliament."
3a: Troops will be sent immediately from Ireland to Boston, a committee will meet with the selectmen of the town "in regard to the provision necessary to be made for the above troops." Workmen are preparing the barracks at Castle William. The required quartering of the troops will likely be met with "the most serious consequences."
