This antique original Dirk/Knife marked "XCD Wade & Butcher's Celebrated Cutlery"(marked on both sides of the ricasso) from the 1840's-1850's is a highly collectible fixed blade knife made of high-quality carbon steel with a spear point blade. It features a full tang design, a one piece horn grip, and a 4-1/2 inch blade length. The blade is basically bright with speckling and light sharpening. This vintage piece from the United Kingdom includes its original leatherette sheath and frog stud, adding to its authenticity and appeal to collectors of antique knives. There is some staining to the sheath. A very nice little knife by one of the premiere English knife makers of the 19th century. It is as made and as found.
