I had the 2007 model of this set, and Lionel has brought it back with style. I'm very glad I upgraded. The power source is much easier to use and the wireless remote means that I can control it without having to fiddle with the former sets transformer. The coupling has been improved between the engine and coal car-That was always a pain for me on the last set. Also, I can use reverse without a toggle on the engine. The sound effects that have been added are delightful as well, and can be turned on or off! The packaging is also much more condensed making it easier to store when it's time to pack it up. The only down sides are that you now need to connect the power source to the included straight piece of track. I used to run my set in a small circle, and this forces me to make an oval. Additionally, when on the track the engine's light is always on so I can't leave it plugged in. The contents are primarily the same as the last kit- you get the train and very nice quality fast track as before. It also includes some smoke for the engine and a few spare parts. Overall, if you don't have a hogwarts express and you would like one, this is the set to get. If you have the 2007 set and love it, you may wish to upgrade- I'm sure glad that I did!Read full review
