In high school I owned a Gibson J-45. One of my pals had a Hummingbird. I loved his guitar. So when this Hummingbird came up, I jumped on it. So far so good. I have re-established calluses on my left hand and have begun to play some old familiar tunes. Guitar looks great for the year it was made, 1980. Hopefully, it will continue to supply hours of enjoyment.

I am impressed with the condition overall and it plays nicely. However, due to age and expected wear and tear, it may need some work on the frets and possibly an adjustment to eliminate string buzz.

I did buy a Hummingbird but the guitar had a natural finish . Was a very nice guitar with a very good tone .

You're either a gibson guy or not. The Hummingbird is by far the best guitar I've ever owned and such a dream to play. The tone clarity is great and very even across the neck from highs to lows. Personally I love the brightness of the mahogany for sides and back as opposed the the rosewood. I was also looking specifically for a Hummingbird made in the early 90's which most closely represent the 60's models for the vintage look and feel. Along with being a dream to play, it's one of the coolest looking guitars ever made.
Absolutely top notch craftsmanship ! Amazing quality , sound and feel. The best acoustic guitar I've ever owned.
