If you own a newer gas/water can, then you need one of these. Whoever designed the new safety spouts on gas cans obviously never tried to put fuel into a generator, tractor or lawn mower. These kit are a MUST have if you put fuel into anything other than a car or truck. It's easy to install and works great.

The fuel pours slower than the original spouts that came with 3 of my gas cans which all had different designs. I was looking for something that would make it easier or faster to pour since the ad says "hi-flow" so I wouldn't have to hold the can in the air for 15 minutes, but it's still slow. This would work if you already have a vented can where the venting is not part of the cap/spout like mine are. Current vented safety caps only work well when more than half the fuel has been poured out of the can so there's enough air space inside the can for the pressure to change. The kit does come with a replacement vent plug. So I though I could drill out to size a hole and retrofit the vent in the plastic can to increase the flow, but it leaks because the thickness of the plastic doesn't allow the vent to fit air tight. You're better off buying a properly vented can in the first place and not the cheap Walmart cans like I did. The safety caps on today's can make it more difficult, increasing holding time and not allowing enough air through them. I wish I hadn't replaced my old cans from the 90's. The longer you spend fueling up, the greater your chances of dropping or spilling your fuel increases. IMHO. If you have a separate vent away from the spout, then this should work well, but there's not many readily available in stores any more.Read full review

these do not work for all Gott or Rubbermaid gas cans. the spout and cap will screw on the can. the spout will not fit back in the gas can. also these gas cans have a screw off vent cap and there is ot one in the package. the spout is nice but nothing else works. very disappointed in this product. some years ago you could buy replacement parts for these gas cans right off the shelf in walmart, sears etc. wish I had bought a bunch as the can are great just no replacement parts that work. well I have found none and these do not work other then the spout (but does not fit back in gas can). Also these cans have a cap to close up can once spout is in can and there is not one of them either. quality of product is good, thick plastic. wish it had worked. I wasted my money.Read full review

Part of a good solution to fuel containers that empty too slowly. I have added these high-flow spouts and vents to two plastic 5-gallon diesel containers that I use for tractor fuel. These spouts seal well and empty the container more efficiently than the smaller standard spouts. I have not used the extension that comes with this set, so I can't say how well that might work.

After seeing favorable videos I expected my replacement spouts to work. To my dismay I discovered that none of them fit into the fuel fillers of any of my cars. They are too large! They will only fit 30 year old cars that ran on leaded gas, REALLY! WTF! The seller said he would check this out, but he never got back to me. Surprise! Oh well they work great if your car was built in 1966.
