Very high quality feeling, playing, and sounding guitar right out of the box. Good luck finding an alder body with an ebony fretboard to match under $1k elsewhere. The 27" scale neck IS considerably longer but unless you're noodling in thirds (Thy Art style) you won't be able to tell too big of a difference. The tone on this thing is simply unparalleled. Everything rings through so clearly, it sounds and feels like you'd be playing in Drop C when you're actually down in G. The ONLY con I have for this thing is the darned neck pickup placed RIGHT where your pick will land...apparently this was a design feature (-cough- flaw) by Stephen C himself because it would "Look cool". At any rate, very solid and well built axe for under a grand.

The active emgs and the fast fretboard make this guitar a blast to play. This is my 3rd 7 string guitar (Halo Morbis and a schecter blackjack) all are great sounding instruments...to my ear this sounds better..very meaty...great sustain and aesthetically looks better...very satisfied with this guitar
