This is great turntable in my opinion. Whether or not you’ve owned a record player in the past or not it’s certainly good enough. I can’t get these people that spend thousands on a turntable. It’s not necessary at all. The rest of the system needs to be of good quality to enjoy great sound. Speakers are the most important part of any system. Hands down.

Only got to use this turntable a few times before I had to expand my love collection.

I was very surprised at the sound quality of the Pioneer PL 990, I upgraded to a Pro-Ject debut and was left wondering if It was worth paying twice as much. This Pioneer was not at all that much inferior. This has a pretty clean sound, and with the pitch control you can tweak any inconsistencies. I paid close to 200 new, I would say go ahead and get a Pro-Ject or a U-Turn for a few hundred more, but if you can get this at a reasonable price it is worth it for a beginner. Frankly the one star review here is ridiculous, for a starter table it's 5 stars easily. If you are an audiophile go for a higher priced table... and don't nitpick the sound of this.

No it's probably not the best turntable ever made. But it is really good for the price and perfect for dusting off your old records and giving them another spin
