This radio is pretty nice for the price. Works good, simple operation, just select the channel and go. Good receive sensitivity and transmit power out is 2 watts. The programming software is fairly uncomplicated. Audio output sounds good, but the radio will have an annoying squelch burst when the receive signal goes away. There seems to be no way to eliminate this, that I have found. Maybe if it is talking to another unit of the same type, and CTCSS decode is on, it might not have that problem, I haven't tested that. The transmit sounds very good. This radio is not waterproof or weatherproof, so keep that in mind. It looks professional, but is not for heavy duty operations, but you can't expect that for the price. The battery lasts a long time, and the range is as expected for a 2 watt transmitter. Power output, RX sensitivity, frequency and deviation were all verified by a communications service monitor, and all are well within specs. Some sellers advertise the radio as 4 watts, but it is not. Only 2. The battery is a 3.6v LiOn battery with a drop in charger, takes about 3 hours for a complete charge. The frequencies that come preprogrammed shouldn't be used unless you have a license for them. Plan on reprogramming the radio to your own channels, the cable is only about $10 on e-bay, and the software is available free from many sites on the internet. It has a voice prompt that tells the channel number as you change channels, or when you turn the radio on, I think it is possible to turn this feature off, if not wanted.Read full review
BF 888S is a cheap radio communications but it's a good item to connect you and your friends. it's using UHF frequency makes sound more clearly hear by your friends. In city, you can clear communicate with others radio is about 1 km, if more than 1 km it will drop your signal, but if in open area it's can until 2,5 - 3,5 km. The battery is big capacity, make you save if you don't take the charger in the forrest.
This radio station costs as a children's toy of Uoki-Toki. But it is the full-fledged professional radio station providing guaranteed range of communication of 5 km on a cross-country terrain. The output capacity of the transmitter of 5 W declared by the seller isn't true. At a food from the lithium battery of 3,7 volts real capacity in the antenna about 2,5-3 W. But it isn't a shortcoming. Small - the easy battery is plus for the mobile device. This power has enough for ensuring communication within direct visibility. In a handheld transceiver there are no functions necessary to the user superfluous, not in the form of sounds of the nature, a selective call and others. It simply provides good, legible communication, within direct visibility. It is easy to program a handheld transceiver on any grid of the frequency necessary for the user, within the range of 400-470 MHz. Buy this radio station and you won't regret about uniform cent, for it paid.Read full review
Very nice purchase, the radio fits perfectly to my professional needs. Also presentes quite interesting features to it. The endurance and the reach of the transmitter is satisfying and its rugged manufacture is a good asset.
A very flexible way of programming UHF/VHF freq. A little low range wise comparing with motorola gmrs/frs. But like all the features. good battery. lightweight. pro looks.handy. programming software is not that friendly and has compatability issues with win vista, xp works fine.
