This is a World War OneImperial German Model 1898/05 Bayonet with frog and scabbard. This \"butcher blade\" bayonet is the correct bayonet for the Gewehr 98 Mauser Rifle. It\'s marked \" RICH A. HERDER SOLINGEN\" The blade is 14-1/2\" long. The tip is not broken and the mechanism to lock the bayonet onto the rifle works fine. The frog is made of leather. I have no idea if the frog is original or a reproduction. The metal scabbard is original. All in all a nice example.
