Fine condition and guaranteed original WWI Imperial Germanarmy issue fighting knife. Maker marked “ERN” on the left side of the blade forproduction by Ern Wald Rhineland. Right side of blade is marked“RASIERMESSER-FABRIK” for “Razor Manufacturer”. Left side of blade has aFraktur proof mark. 6 ¾” blade has beautiful original bright finish with alittle gray and brown. Still has original leather washer at the base. Woodgrips have original finish and a good tight fit with a few normal handlingmarks. Fitted in correct original steel sheath that has excellent originalblack paint and no dents. Complete with original leather belt loop and handlestraps that are soft and pliable with some wear and surface cracking. Handlestraps snap functions fine. A great example of a WWI German fighting knife by arare maker.
