Weymann Keystone State Trumpet - King Liberty - Stencil For Sale

For sale is aWeymann Keystone State Trumpet-Serial number:15617.Accordingtomy research this trumpet is a \"stencil\" horn made by HN White Co., the maker of the famous King Liberty, for the Weymann instrument company in Philadelphia PA. It has the Weymann logo on the bell. trumpet looksnearly identical to a late 20\'s early 30\'s King Liberty, in almost every detail. It hasa gold washed bell, with some past repair evident. Silver plating on body of the horn shows some wear through at the contact points, but ispretty complete. Back bow has a moderate dent, and2nd slideis a little banged up, but all in all a very nice looking rare horn. Take a close look at the photos - theytell the story.I service and repair trumpets as a hobby. Due to how rare this instrument is, I chose toonly give it a good cleaning and get it into playing condition.Slides move freely. The pistons move smooth but do show some plating wear.There is some \"blow-by\" when doing a compression test. Nothing that I would call excessive...I\'m using Al Cass valve oil (a very thin oil) An oil formulated for vintage horns wouldbe best, but not necessary. Hornstill plays very well despite valve plating wear. It has a nice centered tone and responds well, especially in the high register-A nice player!I fabricated a 3rd valve slide ring out ofbrass round stock, then silver plated it.I alsohand lapped and aligned the slide tubes for effortless movement. 3rd slide is nowvery fast and smooth.
