Vintage Working Empire Model 43 Steam Engine - Clean and ready for action! This is an Empire Model 43 Stationary Steam Engine. It is in excellent condition. It operates on 120 volts AC and draws 350 watts. It was made in Two Rivers, Wisconsin by The Metal Ware Corporation. Included with the Steam Engine is the original AC power cord.
Empire made several different models of Steam Engine with the Model 43 being one of the last manufactured. It should not be confused with the Model B43 which has a different type of engine. The Model 43 is a single acting spool valve with reversing eccentric. The base is a pressed steel plate. The cylinder platform and main bearings are a \"one-piece\" unit. The cylinder shell is a heavy 1/16 in thick. The cylinder itself is cast brass, as is the steam chest. The flywheel is heavy cast iron.
The base plate of the model measures 8 in x 6 1/4 in. From the base to the top of the \"stack\" measures 6 3/4 in. The Boiler is 6 1/2 in long and 2 1/2 in in diameter.
