This is a very unique & rarehanging Scale which consists of 2 brass dish/trays with a brass cross arm beam & hook assembly. Each dish has 3 copper chains which attach to the beam. All components of this scale are believed to be original.

This scale was purchased in Turkey over 30 years ago.

Each dish is embossed with the seal (Tughra) of the Ottoman Sultan who ruled the empire at that time. The seals show Arabic numbers for 1138 which appears to be a date from the Islamic (Hijri) Calendar. A date of 1138AH would roughly correlate to the year 1725AD in the Christian (Gregorian) Calendar.

The scale weighs approximately 500g (1.2 lbs.). Each dish is about 10 cm (2.9\") in diameter and the cross arm beam is 24 cm (9.4\") in length.
