VINTAGE ST. CLAIR FLATS CANVASBACK DRAKE DUCK DECOY UNTOUCHED ORIGNAL BONE DRY For Sale

Up for sale is a verycool and folky, painted eye Goldeneye Hen from an unknown eastern Ontario,Canada maker, we estimate to be ca. 1930’s.This decoy has been blacklighted and this suggests that it is inoriginal paint which shows some nice crazing.There is no evidence of an earlier coat of paint in the areas wherethere is paint flaking. This solid birddoes show some wear from use including chipping to the paint on the left sideof the breast and wear to the bill, head and bottom edges. There is a tight check in the back that lookslike it was there when the decoy was painted.The head wiggles slightly but is solidly attached. While the rigging islong gone, it appears to have had a swing weight attached to the rear of thebottom. Overall, this is just a neatlittle Canadian decoy that was very lightly used.
