Vintage Series 67 Taipan1.5 cc, BR diesel model aeroplane / airplane engine New For Sale

Up for sale is a rare Taipan gem which has been presumed missing for many years. Produced by Gordon Burford in 1967 as one of 3 \"Prototypes\" it appears to have been hidden in \"plain sight\" for the last 50 years. According to Maris\'s informative GB\'s Model Engines, page 79, this motors \"fate is not known\". The other two went to Mal Pring and Ken House. Mal Pring and Trevor Dowling won the 1/2A Team Race with one of them at the 22nd Nats in Warnambool in 1968, with another of the \"limited production\" (50) red anodised ones finishing 2nd. It is my belief that Ivor obtained this motor directly from Gordon all those years ago and that it remained in his collection until his death. This particular motor is easily distinguished as one of the initial batch of three, by the unanodised head, the pressed in front bearing housing and the \"IFS\" initials stamped under one mounting lug. It has never been mounted and appears never to have been run. In fact it is extremely tight in the P&C as further evidence of its providence. The compression T bar is formed into a V, presumably to allow adjustment in a close-cowled Team Race model.
