Vintage MOD Pop Art Retro TV Novelty Light Atomic Era TV Lamp Handmade Numbered For Sale

This is by far the coolest thing I\'ve come across in my vintage hunting! I got it at an estate sale that was filled with very high end vintage artwork and designer furnishings.

It is a vintage pop art novelty light in the shape of a retro television. I have done a lot of research to date the piece and haven\'t been able to find anything like it. So, based on the age of the other items in the estate, the patina on the metal and materials used to make it, I would guess it is at least 20 years old, probably older.

It\'s composed of a metal frame that is covered in a painted resin type material with metal screen backing (looks like fiberglass). The \"cabinet\" of the tv is painted in a faux woodgrain pattern, with a vibrant blue screen and red knobs protruding from it for a 3D effect. I love the funky asymmetrical trapezoid shape, but my favorite thing has to be the quirky antenna!. It consists of two metal rods with little balls on the ends, poking out from a red hub on the top. The legs are the same metal rods with balls on the ends. Very atomic / sputnik looking.

The bottom is open, and this is where you can access the socket and bulb. It takes a standard size bulb base. It\'s got a nice, long 15\' cord so you can put it just about anywhere. The soft amber glow it gives off when lit produces the perfect mood lighting. Would be great in a bar or lounge type space or even in a kids\' room for a night light.

The back is marked DWS96 - 116 hand-written in black.

It is a true, one-of-a-kind piece that is guaranteed to be the showstopper in any retro space.

Condition - It is in good vintage condition. There are no tears or holes in the resin covering, but there is a small indentation in one of the knobs (they are hollow) and the screen is not perfectly rounded. The metal frame has some paint on it from when the shell was painted.The metal is definitely aged and weathered (not corroded), which you would expect in a vintage piece. It is in good working order.
