VINTAGE MASON FACTORY GLASSEYE MOURNING DOVE DUCK DECOY ORIGINAL PAINT VERY RARE For Sale

Up for sale is a very rare and early Mason Factory glasseye Mourning Dove decoy.  It is in all original paint, ca. 1905.  It has a short iron bill and pointed tail.  The paint is in good original condition with some paint loss on the tail, breast and underside with some rubs to the sides. There are a number of shot marks on this decoy suggesting that it spent a good amount of time in the field.  Retains its original glass eyes although the right one is slightly cracked.  There is a small chip around the left eye. Stand is included.  These Mason shorebirds decoys are tough to find in any condition.  See “Mason Decoys” by Goldberger and Haid, page 112 for similar examples.  Measures 11” long from the tip of the bill to the tip of the tail.
