Downsizing forces me to sell this wonderful vintage nativity. It is from the 1950s, made in Italy. The figures are LARGE and all hand painted very beautifully. They are made of a material that seems to be somewhere between plaster, paper mache and pottery. Some of them have been repaired and I would say that all have some chips or paint loss. THEY ARE SOLD AS IS. By this I mean that if you are looking for a perfect, unblemished set this is NOT FOR YOU.The pieces are as follows and any major damage is noted:BABY JESUS 5 1/2\" by 4\". The baby and crib are separate. Just some minor chips.
MARY 9\" tall. She has a chip on the top of her head scarf.
JOSEPH 9\" tall. He is missing his staff. I suppose a piece of wire can replace it.
ANGEL 9\" tall. Minor chips of paint.
3 KINGS 9 1/2\", 10 1/2\", 11 3/4\" The European King has had his head glued back on. Please look at the photo. The African King is carrying a platter with a jar but the jar is not attached. There is some art gum (blue) that has been used to hold it. The Middle Eastern King has had his base glued and I\'m sorry but I ran out of photos. only allows a dozen. I can say that the repair is well done and very subtle.
CAMEL 12\" long x 7 1/2\" tall. Very minor chips.
SHEPARD 12 1/2\" tall. His nose is chipped and the sheep\'s tail is not broken but has a large paint chip on the bottom.
SHEEP 3 1/4\" tall. This is the most damaged. It is made of a harder substance and the legs have breaks. There must be a wire or something inside holding them together The wooden creche is about 24\" long by 11 1/2\" wide by 18 1/2\" tall. It needs some more straw but is in very good condition. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL THE PIECES HAVE MINOR CHIPS. THAT IS TO BE EXPECTED FOR SOMETHING THAT IS OVER 50 YEARS OLD.THAT IS WHY I AM STATING AGAIN THAT THIS IS SOLD AS IS. If it doesn\'t sell I may have it professionally repaired and relist it for much more. Shipping is $40.00 in the continental US.
