- This is the VERY FIRST TIME this one-of-a-kind PERSONAL COLLECTION of beautiful vintage baseball cards is being offered for sale!
- My parents, though still healthy and active in their 80’s, are giving more attention to end of life issues, including the stewardship of my father’s baseball card collection. My father personally collected each of his cards throughout his childhood, and then in his young adult years via purchase, trading, newsletters, mail, etc. (He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and entered the active fleet as a career Naval Officer in 1958, which explains why that year was his last complete Topps set.) His goal was always complete sets, and so he does not have very many “superfluous” cards. One of the most touching things about his collection is that the 1948 Bowman set of 48 black & white cards, was painted (very beautifully!) by him with watercolors when he was a pre-teen! But other than those “improvements” to the 1948 set, the cards in his collection are in excellent condition, have not been handled, but have been stored in plastic pages and kept in notebooks in his climate controlled bedroom closet for decades. Given that he collected so many of them one-by-one, from various card collectors around the country in the 1950’s and 60’s, their condition varies from card to card, from Very Good to Excellent-Mint to Near Mint-Mint. They have not been professionally graded. I am happy to send photos of particular cards on request.

- My dad views his collection now as an asset that he wants to be a blessing to his children and grandchildren. His card collection has brought him a lot of joy over the years, but inlight of his children and grandchildren’s college tuition, desire for home ownership, etc., he has asked me to begin the process of selling them. I may decide at some point to sell them card-by-card, or set-by-set, but I wanted to begin by offering the whole collection to a potential buyer who may take the same pleasure in them that my father received from these beautiful, vintage cards.
