Vintage 1948 REX ROYAL Archtop Guitar Kay Harmony Regal Gretsch Restored To PLAY For Sale

Cool Vintage 1948 Rex Royal Acoustic Archtop Guitar, made in USA by Kay, Harmony or Regal and distributed by Gretsch in the late 40sThis model features an Auditorium size body with a 15-1/2\" wide lower bout. It has a 20\" long maple body, arched top and back with bound body, new bone nut, original pickguard, original Kluson tuners andadjustable rosewood bridge. It has a very cool Rex Royal Logo with the fancy cup and scrolls, alternating diamond inlays with nice big frets. Finish is worn and flaking all over the body for an awesome super road worn look. An 1-1/2\" piece of binding was replaced on the upper back edge of the body and was aged to blend in. This thing has major mojo and is a great guitar.The frets were dressed and setup with nice smooth action, the rosewood bridge has room for adjustments in either direction and is set up with new D\'Addario 80/20 Brass 12s with action set at about 3/32\" at 12th fret or less. Great sounding archtop with surprisingly big tone and is extremely fun and easy to play. The new bone nut greatly improved the tone and string spacing. There are scratches, dings and finish imperfections all over with some chips and wear on back of the headstock, finish missing in spots all over the guitar, endpin is missing. Thetuners show rust and patina but have been fixed up and lubed with new buttons and have all the original ferrules.Wear on the fretboard and slight fret wear, these big frets dressed up nicely.
