Selling this spectacular Boston Braves Pennant, featuring Johnny Evers Batting image superimposed over a fantastic earlyBravesMascot. There are only 2 known copies of this ultra-rare pennant featuring Hall-of-Famer Johnny Evers. Evers played for the Braves from 1914 - 1916, thus dating this pennant to that specific 3-year span.
This pennant was likely made in celebration of Evers coming over to the Braves franchise from the legendary Chicago Cubs championship teams. That places it right within the 1914 time frame... the legendary season of the World Champion \"Miracle Braves\".
Evers was, of course, a vital part of the Cubs and Braves success. His legend was further cemented by the famous \"Tinker to Evers to Chance\" Poem that becameso popular from the early 1900s -on.
This rare Oversized Pennant is an absolute beauty, with near perfect/amazing graphics, anddeep scarlet felt. Miraculously, there is no fading whatsoever. Condition flaws include a hole near the tip, and most of the bottom Tassel is missing. The hole towards the tip is approximately the diameter of a typical wood pencil. Fortunately, this hole does not extend close to either the top or bottom border, and is in no danger of expanding. Thispennant hasan imposing presence, and is a real attention-getter. Oversized Pennants of this era have become exceedingly rare, and those featuring early T206 eraHall-of-Famers are practically non-existent.
