Very Rare Restored Robeson Blade-Marked M3 & L&C M6 Scabbard For Sale

Very rare Robeson blade-marked M3 fighting knife or \"trench knife\" manufactured during WWII by the Robeson Cutlery Company for the U. S. Army. This knife has an almost pristine blade with its original factory edge and virtually all of its original hot-blued finish. The leather handle has been professionally restored to near original condition and the bluing on the guard and pommel has been touched up. Otherwise, the M3 is in original condition. The M3 is accompanied by an equally rare M6 scabbard made by L & C in excellent condition with supple leather. The soldier who carried the knife lightly scratched his initials, C H M, on the front, but otherwise the scabbard is almost pristine. Robeson M3\'s are very rare since Robeson only made 36,575 M3\'s, or 1.41% of the 2,589,881 M3\'s made for the U. S. Army during WWII. Equally rare are the M6 scabbards made by L&C. The leather M6 scabbards were only made for a short period before being replaced by the plastic M8 and M8A1 scabbards. Together, this M3 and M6 combination, in these conditions, constitute a very rare find for the discriminating collector.
