FLUTE DEMO recording

A beautiful flute by the most important flute maker of 19th-century Vienna, Stephan Koch. This a definately a players instrument, wonderful for Beethoven and similar orchestral music. This flute has been expertly restored by Boaz Berney, one of the top experts on the flutes of Koch. It has an excellent example of Koch’s squarish embouchure hole which is wonderful to play on. It is boxwood with silver keys and bone rings. The pewter plugs for the low B, C, C#havenot been restored and the foot joint is warped as you can see in the pictures. I use the flute at 430 but I believe it will play as high as a=440. (photos by Boaz Berney)
