Very good condition original Swiss Model 1871 Vetterlisocket bayonet that has a Swiss cross proof mark on the shank and serialnumbers on the socket and shank. Bayonet has mixed bright, gray, and brownmetal finish with a few pits. Full length 19” cruciform blade has nice originaltip and no nicks or dings. Complete with working lock ring. Fitted in the rarecorrect original leather scabbard that has brass tip. Leather is soft andsupple with some normal wear, stitching is mostly nice and tight. Complete withleather strap for attaching to the frog. Very hard to find these early SwissVetterli bayonets with original scabbard, will make a great addition to yourcollection.
