This stunning and masterfully made Navajo or Zuni silver and turquoisering is very much in the vein of the work by legendary Zuni jeweler Dan Simplicio (1917 - 1969), one of the finest makers of the C. G. Wallace era. Unmarked.Dimensions: Approx. 1” high, size 11 ½, weight a substantial 23 grams. Inexcellent condition. The ring stars handcut turquoise that I believe tobe natural Morenci (but make your own determination). The stone is bright aqua blue-green with interesting matrix. The aqua coloring is most visible in full sunlight, and bluer in indoor lighting. It is set inside an expertly crafted sawtooth bezel and surrounded at each side with classic Simplicio-style applied silver leaves. The shank is comfortablytapered, making this easy to wear. Thereare random small impressions in the underside of the shank that seem to be artifacts of thecasting process.
