Scarce 1930's Greenduck Pin BABE RUTH Yankees HI-GRADE (PSA 7) NrMT ! Starting offer 99 cents !!! .... Absolutely !!!

DESCRIPTION

A seldom seen, Vintage 1930's pin featuring the star slugger of the New York Yankees, the Babe. Pin measuring approximately 1" in diameter depicts the famous 1928 Babe Ruth 'underwear portrait' of Ruth in his undergarment. This scarce pin however is not related to that promotion but used to promote one of the various Babe Ruth clubs sponsored by the Babe. It was manufactured by the novelty firm, Greenduck Co. of Chicago and has their manufacturers logo on the verso. The pin is one of the TOUGHEST Ruth pins to find in high grade because it is a lithograph pin (where the inks are printed directly on the metal tin face as opposed to most pinbacks in which the image is printed on a piece of paper then place on the metal and then protected with a cellophane covering. Litho pins are very susceptible to scratching). If you are familiar with this pin, we are confident that you will agree that this is easily one of the nicest examples that is encountered in the hobby.

It has been graded by PSA as a NrMT example (PSA 7) and represents 1 of just 2 ever graded by the company. It has a near perfect front with a stellar portrait of Ruth and a super clean reverse. The pin literally glows !

This is a scarce pin. It's FAR tougher than the much more common 1934 Quaker Oats Ruth pins as the PSA population report reflects this with a 60 to 1 ratio (122 vs. 2). This pin does not come much nicer.
