One side with finely carvedI~XL motto typical to this particular maker\'s knives, a serrated groovefor opening is located on the same side along the spine. Beautiful deer staghorn grips with silver inlaid presentation shield and silver color rivets, allcompletely undamaged and intact, with a push bump to the back spring forreleasing the blade. The knife is as firmly set as when it was just made, openswith a loud snap and it takes a slight effort to start extracting the bladefrom the grip, once opened it does not have even a slightest wobble incompletely open or closed positions, nor anywhere in between, a very well madepiece which survived in fully functional condition for over a century and ahalf of being used.
