Made by Beyer for Revox, it is similar to the M201, except it has 600 Ohms impedance as opposed to 200 Ohms, it doesn\'t have the hum-buck coil, and it also omits an LCR filter which is present in the M201 which tames the response at ~ 4KHz. A small dynamic microphone with a tight hypercardioid pattern, it has become a favourite for miking drums where the Hypercardioid pick up pattern enables the recording engineer to easily isolate individual components of the kit and it\'s a particular favourite on the hi-hat. It\'s good to have at least one Hypercardioid mic and the Beyer is very handy when working at close proximity or at a distance where its tight directional characteristic really comes into its own.
