Restored 1884 Singer Improved Family 15-1 Sewing Machine Hand Painted Fiddle Bas For Sale

this listing is foran:Uncommon Restored 1884 Singer \"Improved Family\" Model 15-1 Fiddle Base Treadle Sewing Machine that Sews Very Well & Very Smoothly(see the sew test in the pictures).the entire unit has been: Cleaned, Serviced/sew tested/adjusted and restored to a very fine looking & very fine working order. it now looks like one of the nicest 15-1 machines that can be found by searching the Net (as i did for quite a while a few weeks ago). here\'s more of what i did to improve it: i removed all parts (except the upper shaft/it\'s ends/the connecting rod & the internal stitch length mechanism) and cleaned/oiled and polished all of them...added a new needle & bobbin (i wound the chrome bobbin by hand on the winder/the winder should work fine with a treadle belt...these bobbins are still made for a commercial machine. a search on and/or the Net brings them up) & adjusted the timing...cleaned all parts on the sewing head...cleaned the bobbin case (adjusted it) and all parts around it & in this area...repainted the bottom of the machine...and i touched up black paint areas and touched up the front facing Singer lettering on the top of the machine & then i clear coated this part of the machine to protect it and give it a nice glass-like sheen/appearance. i sew tested this machine by tipping it back on it\'s back edge and turning the hand wheel. this is an uncommon hand painted Singer sewing machine. it\'s the beginning of Singer\'s most popular and longest production running machine: the model 15. once again, this machine looks very nice now and it\'s an extremely smooth operating & very well sewing machine. this machine should weigh around 30 lbs when packaged and ready to ship.
