This is an original very good condition M1 Garand bayonet made on US contract by the Norwegian Kongsberg arsenal in 1954. Blade looks to have light wear, light wear to the handles and cross guard.No scabbard is included, bayonet only. This bayonet has long been a rarity and belongs in any US bayonet collection. 50,000 were made in Norway in 1954, turned over to the US army, then they basically disappeared. It was assumed by collectors they went to foreign military aid, but a few turned up in the mid 1990\'s in a US army supply system surplus sale.
