RUGGER ARDIZOIA Signed/Auto Vintage 1946 Remar Card-PCL,1947 Yankees--DECEASED:
$80

Rare Signed original, vintage 1946 Remar Bread card from deceased 1947 Yankees pitcher Rugger Ardizoia. Remar Bread produced cards from 1945-1950 regionally in Northern California featuring players of the Pacific Coast League team Oakland Oaks. In 1945 Remar only produced a team picture card, 1946 was the first year that they produced individual player cards. This signed "Rugger Ardizoia" card is from the 1946 set. Card measures approx 2" x 3" and features Rugger in his Oakland Oaks uniform and is signed in bold ball-point ink directly below his image on front of card. Ardizoia was born November 20, 1919 in Oleggio Italy, Rinaldo "Rugger" Ardizoia was the oldest living NY Yankees player at the time of his death on July 19, 2015. One of only seven players born in Italy to ever play major league baseball. Rugger's only big league appearance came on April 30, 1947 against the St. Louis Browns at Sportsman Park. He entered the game for the Yankees in the seventh inning and closed out the game. The Yankees would go on to win the World Series in 1947. Mr. Ardizoia had a successful minor league career that started in 1937 and ended in 1951, pitching many seasons in the talent packed Pacific Coast League (P.C.L.). He missed three years of his professional career (1943-1945) due to his military service during WWll. Rugger enjoyed a great season during his first year back from military service when he recorded 15 wins with a 2.83 ERA for the 1946 Oakland Oaks of the Pacific Coast League.-----Card is nice for it's age with No creases, minor corner/edge wear & bold signature. Rare signed vinatge card from this deceased former 1947 Yankees player. ALSO included is original 3x5 note asking Mr. Ardizoia if he would sign the baseball card with his handwritten response (signed "Rugger") as well as the return envelope with Rugger's return address label. 100% Original authentic card & signature. I have been collecting autographs since the 1970s and guarantee their authenticity. Full refund if disproved by PSA or JSA. Please look at listing pictures as this is exact items you will receive.
