This is a Rare Matched Pair of Vintage Pyramid (Dick Sequerra) 8W Subwoofers for use with his well regarded Metronome 7 speaker systems or with most any other speakers you desire to use them with. These are high-end (andexpensive) audiophile subwoofers made of quality components in very nice oiled walnut solid cabinets.
The cabinets are in good overall condition and they present well. They are not perfect and have some surface scratches and marks consistent with age, but the cabinets present well overall as shown in the pictures. They would be beautiful if refinished. The grills look good, but they are a little worn with a very small hole in one. Of course, the grills can be recovered if desired. Both subwoofer drivers work well and sound great. The speakers havesequential matching serial numbers 0566 and 0567. Please see the pictures to judge condition for yourself.
The 8W Subwoofers were designed by Dick Sequerra for use with his well regarded Metronome 7 speaker systems, but they will also work with most other speakers unless you have super low impedance speakers in the 1-2 ohm range. These are passive subwoofers, with built in crossovers; one sub can be used with a pair of Met 7s or other speakers but obviously a pair will sound better than a single sub. The internal crossovers allow switching between 125/250 HZ frequencies, and 0 or plus 3 db to allow for flexibility for integration with other systems. Each sub is finished on 5 sides in oiled walnut, top, front, rear, and sides, weighs 75lbs unpacked, and is 28 ¾ in height, 16 ¾ wide, and 13 ¾ deep. The driver is a 12\" cone with rubber surround. I have used them with several bookshelf and satellite speakers, and have had no problems with integrating the subs. The subs are articulate, and go deep.
I strongly prefer local pick-up of these at my home North of NYC, but I will ship to the 48 states although it will not be cheap to ship these monsters. Absolutely NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING . . Too Heavy.
