PREMCO TV/Table Lamp 1954 Chinese Boat Ceramic Vintage (R15092001) For Sale

This is an authentic, vintage, Mid-Century table lamp made by Premco Manufacturing Company of Chicago, IL in 1954. This lamp is of a white porcelain ceramic with hand painted coloration on certain details of the front and back. Premco is known for getting dual usage from a particular mold, and this mold is one that can be found as a TV Lamp or as a \"regular\" table lamp. This one is made of ceramic and is of a Chinese Junk boat design. The lamp configuration is a little rare as Premco made these only for a couple of years, as far as I can tell.This lamp is also completely functional, with a three-way lamp socket. I believe this lamp to be all original. It is in very good shape considering it is 61 years old, but there is a little wear and tear on the stem of the lamp (holding the socket) which shows how the original owner gradually rubbed off a little of the finish on the stem, and the base of the stem, being plastic and brittle, was damaged along the way. Other than wiping it down, I have done nothing to this lamp since I acquired it, and all the wear is the same as when I found it. I feel that any deep cleaning should be task of the new owner, as the value could be affected by the process, and I\'m no expert on cleaning chemicals!Premco apparently made a nice line of lamps in the early \'50\'s centering on 1954-1956. You can find pictures and information of others they have made at tvlamps.net, including this one in another color set.The lamp measures a little over 19 inches tall overall. The shade measures 17.5 inches wide and 12 inches deep and 10.5 inches high. The base measures 16 inches wide and about 4 inches deep.
