Pre WWI German Model 71/84 Mauser bayonet and scabbard. Bayonet is made by Soemmerda and dated L/90 on the spine. This is a Bavarian bayonet, these bayonets are quite scarce. Bayonet is unit marked \"B.15.R.7.131..\" for The 15th Bavarian Infantry regiment, scabbard is German issue steel mounted leather, the leather is stiff and in nice shape, the scabbard has shrunk about 1/8\" and the bayonet doesn\'t go all of the way in. Scabbard is unit marked \"53.R.16.243\" for the 16th Infantry regiment.. Bayonet is in excellent- condition, with a bright blade which has light sharpening. A very nice set.
