Itsgreat antique heavycavalrysword. Model year 1840. Thissword is made in 1851. Pre US Civil War. Manufacturing company \"AMESMFG CO.\" Sword is used but in very good condition. Each part isoriginal. It can be seen that sword had participated in real battles.Blade haspatina and several indents from battles. Overalllength 41 1/2 inches or 105 cm without scabbard. Both sides of bladehas a mark. One side has a mark \"AMES MFG. CO CABOTVILLE 1851.\"Other side of blade has a mark \"US A. D. K.\" Sword has ametal guard and handles that are leather but wrapped in wire. Swordhas original scabbard. This sword is not only a weapon, but a part ofAmerican history.
