Original Cast Iron Halladay Star Windmill Weight For Sale

Up for sale is an original cast iron Halladay Star windmill weight. This weight was used on the 12 foot Halladay mill manufactured by the U. S. Wind Engine and Pump Co. of Batavia, Illinois. It is identified as weight number 65 in Don Sites reference book on windmills and windmill weights. This weight is in overall good condition with an aged cast iron finish and traces of black paint. It does have a fine line stress crack on each side that extends from the mounting hole on each faceto the edge of the weight where the mast was mounted (see photos). These stress cracks are commonly found on these types of weights that actually saw service on a windmill. The cracks do not detract from the overall appearance of the weight. The weight weighs in at nearly 45 pounds on my scale. I\'ve owned this weight for well over 30 years and guarantee it to be an original and not a reproduction,

In response to several inquiries I have received regarding the Halladay Star windmill weight, the following updates are provided. Regarding the dimensions of the weight, it measures 15 inches across and almost three inches thick in the middle. Regarding how much it weighs, I took it to the local UPS office that I have sales shipped from and their scale said it weighs 38.7 pounds. Lastly, regarding whether the weight has the identification code H37 visible in the casting, the answer is yes, the 37 is quite visible and the H is partially visible. The code is visible in the first photo (under magnfication)just above the center mounting hole. I\'ve added one additional close-up photo that better displays this area of the weight.
