Details:following disassembly & cleaning

The boiler she\'ll, steam chest, front chest, & training truck were stripped to bare metal, then repainted first with hot black primer, then several coats of black matte enamel.  Following drying, the boiler she\'ll received new handrails installed with new cotter pins.  On top of the boiler she\'ll a new decorative bell, & whistle were installed. New cab numbers were installed in 1951 silver color.  All 4 rhinestones were replaced on the front chest with new.

The new truck was reassembled using original parts, & a new rivet.

 Reconditioning Processes Performed On Engine:

The Chassis were disassembled, & all parts cleaned of old grease.  The axel bearings were checked & any that were found worn replaced, the chassis was reassembled, & axel end play was set.  New side rods, & side rod screws were installed on both sides of the chassis.

The Collector Roller Assembly, was rebuilt with new rollers & springs.

E Unit Rebuilt was found to be in excellent condition, & only required cleaning.  Has not missed a cycle  during testing.

The 681-100 motor was disassembled ,cleaned, then rebuilt with new armature bearings, that we install using a press & an alignment rod for precise alignment, &\"pressed in, to the original position.  The commutator slots were cleaned of old debris, then the commutator was polished & installed into the motor & end play set. The brush plate was cleaned, brush holders polished, then new brushes & springs installed in the brush plate.  The brush plate was installed back on the motor, & the reassembled motor was bench tested.

The Smoke Chamber was disassembled cleaned & reassembled with new material. The smoke lever was adjusted for quiet operation.
