( Note)

Have included a picture of Capt. Kenyon in Civil War Uniform for your viewing. (See picture 3 )Doesn\'t come with the brick. You are buying brick only.

Phineas Kenyon was a pioneer settler in Illinois, when the civil war broke out. Mr. Kenyon enlisted as a private in Company K 15th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. Served 4 yrs. & 6 days. In Nov. 1862 was promoted to Captain due to his leadership abilities. For one act alone does Capt. Kenyon merit enduring honor in the pages of history of the Civil War...With 600 men under his command he was able to hold off 9,000 confederates who were under command of Gen. Hood & Gen. Stewart, and thus saved Altoona Pass, the key to the rear of Gen. Sherman\'s Army. In the conflict he was captured, sent to Andersonville Prison for 5 months until his exchange. After the war he engaged in farming in Missouri & became well known in milling & lumber trade. In 1894 moved to Oklahoma Territory staked a claim in Greer Co. Later moved to Oklahoma City where he started his brick co. He ran it for 6 years, then sold it to ACME BRICK. He passed away in Oklahoma City in 1926 at age 86. Please look at all photos, I have included one of Capt. Kenyon

There are 3 versions of the KENYON BRICK..The one pictured here is normal with all the letters straight across. One has a slanted O which is hard to find, but the hardest to find is the upside down Y. Don\'t miss out on this piece of Oklahoma & Civil War History.

Thank You
