This is a very nice early Jet lathe made in Taiwan. It has flame hardened ways, it’s a very stout wide machine with a geared head that runs quiet. There is a coolant pump. This lathe was bought new from Jet and has been used only by the original owner. The only issue with the machine is the half nut engagement lever is missing but NOT broken. It is an easy thing to either make or replace. The machine runs flawlessly and is ready to plug in and go. The original owner replaced the motor with a Baldor 5 hp, 1725rpm 220v Single Phase Motor so no need to use a phase converter.

The lathe is in a residential garage and we have no way to load with a forklift. The buyer will have to either hire a flat bed tow truck or bring a low drop down trailer or tilt trailer to load. Machine weighs over 2,000lbs.

We have lots of experience loading heavy machinery on trailers without forklifts. We will provide assistance in loading and can guide you with direction as to which trailer to rent or use. We will provide simple lifting equipment to lift the machine to roll on pipes. Once on pipes it will easily winch onto the proper trailer.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFO!!!:
After recieving many requests for additional measurements on this machine the following measurements were taken:
An indicator was put on the saddle and the tip was set on the cleaned flat way that the tail stock rides on. The indicator was zeroed as close to the chuck as possible.
Moving the saddle towards the tail stock the following measurements were taken....

No movement on the indicator until halfway toward the tail. At the halfway point the indicator read -.0005\".

At the very end of the bed closest to the tailstock the indicator read -.001\".

There were no other deviations on the needle of the indicator.

Backlash of the cross slide was measured with the indicator riding on the compound and the tip placed on the stationary saddle.

Backlash as measured on the indicator was no more than .007\"
