What a find~ vintage JBL Paragonspeaker system in cabinet; circa 1950-80. [As mentioned below, manufacture years were 1957 through 1983, withvery limited units actually built.]
This is serial #1715 andis in excellent overall condition.Note the \'burn\' mark as shown; some other small flaws, as a piece of veneer missing and minorchips along some edges.; a bit dusty also.We have not wired this up yetbut can do that, as well as provide more photos, if you desire.We are offering this at 21,300.00 and prefer local pick up only, so a visit tobeautiful Northern Arizona may be in your future. TheJBL D44000 Paragonis an iconic one-piece stereo loudspeaker created byJBLthat was introduced in 1957 and discontinued in 1983; its production run was the longest of any JBL speaker.At its launch, the Paragon was the most expensive domestic loudspeaker on the market.

Designed byArnold Wolffrom a concept elaborated byRichard Ranger, it is almost nine feet long and requires over a hundred-man hours of hand-finishing by a team of dedicated craftsmen.Resembling less a conventional loudspeaker than an elegant sideboard, it is a landmark product for the company that was sought after by the well-heeled and celebrities.With an estimated total production of about 1,000 units, it is highly sought after by collectors to this day.
