Italian Battleship R.N. (Conte di) Cavour silver cuff links, c.1910 - 1946 For Sale

This listing is for a pair of silver cuff links from the Italian Battleship R.N. Conte di Cavour. The cuff links are still connected and show signs of wear, They are 15mm in diameter, .800 fine silver and weigh approximately .1 Ozt (3.1gm).The right link shows an upward looking bow / starboard side view of the front main guns and conning tower, the left link has (what I have read) the Cavour family crest with the motto \"A Nessuno Secondo\" (second to none). The reverse side of both links shows the silver fineness hallmark. In coin terms the condition and wear would make these a fine - VF grade. It has a natural patina, I made no attempt to polish this item.
The Conte di Cavour was the lead ship of the Cavour class battleships built in the 1910\'s. It was active in both world wars but saw very limited action. Due to bombing raid damage it capsized in Feburary 1945, and it was scrapped in 1946. A full history can be found on wikipedia in either English or Italian. I tried to paste in the links but I guess I cant do that anymore according to the notice that showed up when I tried to list this item with the links in this description.I am no expert on Italian naval regalia from a century ago so I can not confirm if these were from the WWI or WWII era, or somewhere in between.This could be your chance to pick up this interesting historical piece if Italian naval militaria.
