DESCRIPTION& NOTES:mpressiveAustrian art pottery floor/porch vase of two handled amphora shape madeby Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel Amphora, Turn-Teplitz,Bohemia, c. 1892-1910.The body of double handled amphora form is moulded with a strong crispbasket weave with matt green glaze, the handles alternate with “wraps”of gloss blue and lustre with gilt over light blue glossy glaze, themouth and feet following suit; applied down and around the body is alarge vine of grape leaves, with blue gloss and lustre glaze furtherhighlighted with gilt.The appropriate markings are found impressed on the base: “AUSTRIA” inan oval / “AMPHORA” in an oval / “115 75” over an impressed crown.

CONDITION:A striking example of Amphora this vase is inExcellent Vintage Condition; for accuracies sake there are one or twoextremely tiny paint flakes on the raised decoration, these are visibleonly under extremely close scrutiny, else any visible wear isnegligible and commensurate with age.The craftsmanship and detailing is of the highest quality, it ismagnificent example of Austrian Art Nouveau..
