Icom IC-R8500 Communication Receiver For Sale

After moving to a deed-restricted neighborhood with no possibility of an antenna farm, I\'m reluctantly putting up some of my radio gear for sale, starting with this Icom IC-R8500 receiver. The receiver is cellular blocked, but otherwise covers 0.1 to 1999.99999MHZ in modes AM (wide, normal, narrow), FM (normal/narrow), SSB (USB/LSB), CW, and WFM.

Included are the original AC adapter, DC power cable, plugs (mini, RCA phono), fuses, screws, bolts, software (see note, following), and packaging. I received no user\'s manual with the radio when I purchased it but downloaded an original copy in PDF format from Icom and am including it on a CD readable on both Mac and Windows computers.

Software Note: As you can see in the photos, the original software on 3.25\" floppies is included. This is most certainly outdated software. I never attempted to use it, or to control the radio with software. Therefore I cannot warrant the software or offer support for it. Nor can I offer support for, or suggest alternative software. Your best resources for such would be online user forums, or, not to lose buyers here, but if you\'re really looking for a software controlled radio -- consider a full SCR instead :-)

I\'m one of those owners that likes to have the original box for his gear. The original box did get a few dings when I had it in a storage bin -- the radio was not inside! -- and if you\'re one of those type of owners, you\'ll appreciate that I\'m encasing it an outer box to keep it safe. Since your package ships insured, I\'ll enclose a photo of the dings to the original box (before shipping) so you can determine that the shipment didn\'t undergo any rough handling.
