German ww2 Radio Receiver Ukw.E.e For Sale

The Ukw.E.eis acompact shortwavereceiverfound in the GermanWW2 tanks and waspart of theFu5 system.The radio was often used together with a 10W transmitter.This is a7 tube superhetrodyne receiver with one RF-amplifier, mixer, a local oscillator, two IF-amplifiers, detectorand an AF-amplifier.All stages use the German RV12P4000 tube. The frequency range is 27,2 - 33,3 Mhz AMand the frequency dial hasa wonderful resolution and precision.LF-output is for high impedance (4Kohm) headphones, but if you have a suitable transformer a small loudspeakerwill probably work. The Radio needs an external power supply of 12V 1,8A for the heaters and 130V DC at about 25mA. A copy of the user manual (in German) is enclosed. This is also a weird thing - the lettersare a gothic font! A little difficult to read in the beginning, but the text is rather simple and self explanatory. The radio was working last time I tried it, but that is at least 10 years ago, so please be careful when you tryit for the first time.Some capacitors mighthave becomeleaky and short circuit the high voltage. This might ruin transformers and then you will have a lot of work!

I have had the receiver on a shelfat my officefor many years.All the knobs and controls turn freely, but it will need a bit cleaning and checking.Remember that it is made in 1943 and thus 71 years old! The cabinet is repainted in an ugly red colour, but I think the frontpanel is original.A very stupid person (not me!) has made some soldering on the pins in the power connector, but this should be easy to repair. Look closelyat the pictures and ask me if you are uncertain.The set is sold as USED, NOT WORKING.
