High quality classic vintage stereo receiver- a warm full bodied sound with avery niceexterior condition!

This is a classic vintage 1970\'s 2270 Marantz stereo receiver that many consider to be the finest of the vintage Marantz receivers and has a buttery, warm sound quality. The Marantz These vintage receivers are known for their high quality sound and excellent build quality. This 2270 has been throughlyserviced byour professionals at InvestmentAudio and has a 60 warranty as well. All function lamps were replaced and a new power switch was installed- in other words all the common downfalls have been taken care of for you.The receiver has the great looking anodized aluminum faceplate with metal knobs, large blue lighted tuning scale, and wood look metal cabinet. The receiver has had all controls and switches cleaned and lubricated and is in excellent working condition with clean sound and all festoon lamps have been newly replaced with new lamps. All function lamps were replaced andLED festoon lampswere installed also (more on LED\'s later). New diffuser paper was installed behind the tuner scale glass to bring out the deep blue of the color display. Power output is a wonderful70 watts per channel- That wattage is underrated and this is a great receiver to connect a phono turntable or CD player and even an IPOD or listen to the AM/FM stereo radio. The receiver has a high quality AM-FM tuning radio section with Gyro-Touch Tuning and the radio section is in excellent working condition. The receiver has good tonal control with Treble, Midrange, & Bass control and a Loudness switch to boost frequency range at low volume levels. There are inputs for 1- phono, 2- phono,Tape 1 and 2,the AUX and the Tape inputs can be used for CD or DVD analog. There are2 Inputs for main AMP IN and Preamp Out so these sections can be used independently if desired. The 2270 receiver can handle down to 4 Ohm speakers so a wide variety of speakers can be used. Two pairs of speakers can be connected with an 8 Ohm minimum per pair. The receiver has been thoroughly cleaned and the faceplate & knobs were hand polished. The faceplate and knobs are ingood condition (see note above) . The metal cabinet is good shape with a few marks.

By the way, the LED\'s we use are custom equal value equivalents .. snap in type festoon lamps .. They can be taken right out like a normal fuse lamp ..... In our opinion is that

anyone that would modify & solder LED lamps into the lamp housing

of a Classic Marantz receiver is obviously missing the point. Why LED’S? First off they last up to 10,000 hours and probably will never need to be replaced. But more

importantly, LED’s run considerably cooler than their incandescent cousins.

The excessive heat given off by incandescent bulbs can ruin your valuable investment from the inside out.

A note on owning vintage electronics: There is something special about owning one of these units from the 70\'s and beyond. Thesereceivers not only look different, they sound different as well. Theyhave a rich \"warm\"sound that you have to spend thousands of dollars to achieve with today\'s focus on price points from big box retailers. The beauty, sound and power these units achieve comes with a price- you must adopt the \"when\" not \"if\" mindset regarding servicing. It is a very freeing way to look at owning these units. Make no mistake- if you are looking for a \"trouble free\" receiver, buy from the big box guy. Sony, Yamaha and others make new stereo receivers full of IC\'s that you will have to throw away when they fail- wehave to give the bad news to folks all the time at our store. High quality units from the seventies can almost always be saved when they fail. If you are considering buying from InvestmentAudio, congratulations! You\'ll receive a 60 day warranty. But you will still need to seek out a stereo tech in your area. Sooner or later your unit will need additionalservicing. That\'s ok- all things worth doing comewith some form of responsibility. The good news is you\'ll find few pursuits as rewarding as owning one of these truly beautiful and slowly vanishingreceivers. Thanks and don\'t forget to \"Listen align=\"center\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt; text-align: center; line-height: normal; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;\">We are often asked about whether new capacitors have been installed. We usually roll out the car analogy at that point. If your tires have tons of miles left on them, do you replace them? Say you did replace them, if you bought a set of cheap generics, would you be as happy as you were with the high end OEM tires that came with the car? Probably not. While on paper, it looks impressive to buyers to see new capacitors installed, many buyers are disappointed when units like that arrive and they hear piercing highs and ill-defined vocals completely deprived of warmth. Say goodbye to the wonderful classic warm Marantz sound they expected. In order to preserve the original Marantz sound, it is best to keep the original capacitors if they are within tolerance and show no sign of leakage. Installing any new capacitor into a vintage unit will change its intended sound, most often making it sound bright which is not what a buyer of vintage Marantz wants to hear. Finding new old stock capacitors and resistors and testing them is costly and time consuming, thus, many refurbishers find it easier to install what they can easily find off the shelf, all to the detriment of the sound. The next best thing is finding a unit that has its capacitors within tolerance as this unit does. It is by far safer and much better sounding to leave the unit as original as possible. This unit retains the Marantz sound that all buyers want to hear.

A note about shipping: We treat these vintage pieces like the works of art they are. You can offer with confidence knowing your item will arrive safe, sound and intact. Also, we use only recycled materials whenever possible and prudent.
