Click to View Image Album You are offerding on a mahogany cased set consisting of a brass alcohol meter with slide rule and weight made by Joseph Long in London England. This set is marked with Long\'s address as 20 Little Tower Str. Long worked at this address from 1821 - 1884. This set was used for determining proof. The slide rule has a temperature scale, a barrel scale, and a shillings per quarter scale. All pieces are marked with the Little Tower Str. address. The brass meter is in excellent condition. The slide rule is in very good++ condition with all the numbers easily readable and operates smoothly with no warps or bends or cracks. The finish on the mahogany box is showing a little patina but is very displayable as it is. The shield shaped key hole trim piece is missing but the key is included and the lock works great.The key has a metal tag that reads\"J.T.Granger, Nat. Brew. Co. Syracuse, NY\" The reverse side reads \"B.P.O.E No.31\" and has a picture of a stag.The brass plaque on the top of the box reads \"Fields Alcoholmeter Class No.34 Joseph Long Maker. 20 Little Tower Street, London.
