If you own one of the famed Drake R8, R8A or R8B receivers, then you have one of the best consumer receivers ever made and one of the most flexible with regards to capabilities. However, this receiver can be further enhanced with the VHF converter that allows the user to pick up the additional frequencies of 35 to 55 MHz and of 108 to 174 MHz. These frequencies are additional public service, aeronautical, weather, and amateur frequencies that greatly expand the strengths of the Drake.

Originally RL Drake offered this feature for an additional cost of $269. This converter is no longer available and is much sought after. The one we are selling here has been used, but is ingood operational condition and was tested and was operational when recently removed from the receiver. Cosmetically there are a couple of indentations on the board shielding (cover) which does not affect module performance.

The ensemble includes the VHF module, the connector cables, and a copy of the mounting directions. Installation should take about 45 minutes and does not require solder, only a Phillips head screwdriver.
