The Noah Yale House a Mid 1700 s Connecticut River Valley center chimney double door entryhouse that has been recently dismantled and stored in a 53\' box trailer. The interior has been stored in a separate dry building.The Yale House has been occupied by thesame family since the mid 1700s until recently. Building is mid eighteenth century. 10 large rooms 4 are 14\' 6\" x 17\' 6\" The building dimensions are 38\' 5\" wide x 31\' 5\" deep, Ceiling heights are first floor 7\' 6\" second floor 8\' third floor attic 6\' 10\" under the collar ties. The roof is a 10 \" per ft pitch. The exterior 1\" 3/4 thick white oakplankingis attached with wood pegs / wood nails, There are no studs or braces in this building ( Plank studs only or feather edge wall partitions) The roof is a purlin type with 12 rafters.Vertical oak roofsheathing is lap joined to the weather. Original paneling , Two raised panel chimney walls ,three raised panel wainscot walls, two walls withsingle board wainscot. Twenty six full walls of feather edge board type paneling three rooms are in 18th century paint, .Blue, Red, White wash.The southerly second floor room has a rare dressed board ceiling. the doors are threepanel andhigh stylefour raised panel with quarter round molding around the panels& two board feather edge type. Hinges are mostly original H& H L,most latches have been changed. All the floors are original oak and some rooms are poplar one of the second floor rooms had two layers of wide period board floors. The first floor deckflooring wasonly partially salvageable, they usually don\'t survive.The house was re sided in the late 1700s when windows were added to the facade and the double door entry was removed,It was very common to up grade to more windows.The original clap boards are beaded andhave period rose head nails in them there is a few original beaded oak clapboards werestillon the back sideof the building. The front original clapboards were of hand planed beaded poplar,every thing has been saved. The window frames are period 18th century mortise & tenon type. Sash are 19th century two over two replacements. This building has been dismantled by several experienced restoration carpenters.There are over 1200 take down photos the complete building has been numbered inside and out with drawings.You wont find anotherbuilding available like this one. (I am willing to sell the frame only for 45k withoutflooring or paneling. ) I also will assemble / restore this building for additionalcost.I am a licensed restoration company in business for 28 years with excellent references.
